Driving Day 3 Viljandi Town

Today we woke up in Viljandi. We spent the night camping in a large sports-camp. We were woken up at 2am by a crazy wild dog barking at a crazy wild squirrel, who was screaming straight back at the dog. They were right outside the tent, at first we thought it was a bear fighting a dog....Dee was scared, so we ran to the car with our pillows and sleeping bags and spent the night in our little car. It was probably warmer than the tent.... Viljandi is one of the nicest towns we have seen. They have the most amazing castle ruins that you can walk right through and touch. They even have a theater in the middle of it all! We saw a very moving statue of an Estonian War General (well-known Hero in Eesti). We also saw some kids swordfighting.

The town has a beautiful sandy beach on the lake, and wonderful old houses. The bricks are still made of real clay. We saw some people playing boule on the sand. There was a great statue of a man who won the Race-Around-The-Lake about 8 times in a row. The town also has a brilliant red church (surprise!) that sits on top of a hill. There are sooo many churches around Eesti!
