Second day Haapsalu

Today we were taken to the summerhouse built by our hosts, it is near the sea and one of the oldest built in that area. It is absolutely beautiful. The house has a working vegetable garden, and is adorned with antique relics from the area - from an old coffe grinder to horse bridles. Fascinating.
The summerhouse is only 15 km's from Haapsalu, and in between exist a number of old ruins and relics. Including Soviet Army fighter hangars, where we snuck into the base to get some good photos. It's not like they were nearby....There was also an old manor built by a love-crazy man trying to impress a woman. The one and only night he slept there he was already dead. The manor was partly destroyed by the Soviet's, but was still magnificent and very much intact.
We also saw the Haapsalu main beach, where locals don't really go because the water isn't nice. But apparently the Finns and Swedes like the area. We passed an old overgrown bunker, where the soldiers used to hide and shoot people from the inside. Crazy.
We also went in to the school where Ivar's grandfather and his siblings went.
The forests around Haapsalu are fantastic. Thick green and lush. This is nothing yet we have been told. They are very medieval; we have been waiting for knights on horses to come ploughing out of the woods.
