Exploring Paris

For our first day in Paris, we thought we would try and orientate ourselves in the city. So we bought an unlimited day pass, and rode the metro around the whole of inner Paris. We stopped off at the Jardins de Tuileries (the Louvre forecourt gardens), the Eiffel Tower, Champs de Elysees (shopping strip for everything from cars to socks), Arc De Triomphe (Napoleon’s monument dedicated to his army) & the St Germain precinct (art gallery district). Now experts in riding the metro and navigating the arrondissements (suburbs) of Paris, we were able to work out our next few days of sightseeing.
